Here is the list of the courses I took in the IDD&E program:

FALL 2018

Review of, and practice in, design and an in-depth review of the instructional systems design process.  Exploration and experience of design — specifically instructional design — and review of the major aspects of instructional systems design in the context of typical instructional design problems and situations, integrating theory with practice.  Emphasis on needs assessment, learning outcomes, instructional objectives, and instructional strategies in the context of theory and practice.

  • IDE 700 Emerging Research Issues in Learning Sciences

Introduction about emerging research issues and hot topics in the learning sciences area, such as MOOC, Maker Space, Flipped learning, etc. The final project is to develop a research proposal related to the learning sciences area based on personal interest.

 

SPRING 2019


  • IDE 632  Instructional Design and Development II

Focus on instructional systems development (ISD). Exploration of ISD as it is practiced in K12, higher education, military, and corporate environments. Ample guest speakers from various sectors. Creation of a personal ISD model.

  • IDE 641 Techniques in Educational Evaluation

Introduction to the basic concepts and procedures for conducting evaluations. Step-by-step guidelines for planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating service-oriented field evaluations. Focus on program-level evaluations within education. The design of an evaluation plan was the final project for the course.

  • IDE 712 Analysis for Human Performance Technology Decisions

Analytical techniques that can be used to determine if an educational or training program is the most appropriate solution in a variety of educational and business situations: Front-End Analysis (FEA), the way it is practiced in the industrial context, and its application to educational contexts. SUMMER 2019


  • IDE 690 Independent Study – Instructional Designer Internship (Singapore)

A summer internship about how to improve the employee training in Supply Chain Asia (SCA). The client want to make the training more engagement. I develop the assessment system and re-design the training process with my idea and suggestions based on the ADDIE model.

  • IDE 772 Instructional Technologies for International Settings

Exploration of the different ways that educational technology is understood and practiced, and educational innovation projects are planned and implemented, in different national and cultural contexts. The study of case examples of typical projects and proposal of appropriate solutions for the problems that these case examples illustrate.

 

FALL 2019


  • IDE 552 Digital Media Production

Introduction to popular Web design and graphics programs including Dreamweaver and Photoshop and to basic HTML/CSS/Java Script coding. Web design was informed by the concepts of web accessibility and instructional design principles.

  • IDE 621 Principles of Instruction and Learning

Introduction to basic learning and design theories that contribute to the development of more effective instruction.  Theories covered: behaviorism, cognitivism, and social learning. Understanding of the basic concepts was demonstrated in creating a knowledge base of learning theories.

 

SPRING 2020


  • IDE 761 Strategies in Educational Project Management

Focus on aspects leading instruction and/or educational projects and of creating a project management plan. Management tactics, skills, procedures, and tools for planning and administering educational projects. Final product: a project plan designed by using a variety of project management tools and strategies.
